The Indian Animation industry is growing at a rapid pace. This has created an unimaginable demand for skilled animators like never before. However, most talented animators come from Tier 1 cities, leaving behind a vast pool of untapped potential in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Paathshala is a unique initiative of the Human Resources department of 88 Pictures, that is aimed at scouting, training and hiring talented animators and other creative resources from the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities of India.
The initiative involves identifying potential candidates through a rigorous screening process that includes portfolio reviews and technical assessments. Once selected, these candidates undergo an intensive training program that focuses on honing their skills in various areas of animation. The training is conducted by the Creative Heads of the various departments of 88 Pictures, who mentor these young and talented individuals.
Post training, the candidates are given the opportunity to work on international projects as full time employees.
Paathshala helps to bridge the gap between the talent pool and the demand for skilled animators in the industry. It also provides opportunities for individuals in tier 2 and tier 3 cities of India to pursue a career in animation, which was previously inaccessible to them due to a lack of training and resources.
